Thursday 22nd March – Hub 2 - 1pm
More people attended this meeting but there was still people missing that didn’t show up the first time either. To be honest we didn’t expect anything less as they are hardly ever in anyways. Everyone that turned up paid their 3 pound towards the shopping fund for the drinks/popcorn and packaging.
I had researched the different packaging available and the prices so that i was able to discuss at this meeting before i had bought anything to make sure everyone agreed. We agreed to buy red and white regular popcorn bags from my local cash and carry as these were cheaper than the popcorn boxes that i had found on the internet, even though they looked better. We had to think about our budget.
Shaun showed us the designs for the invites and the posters but just had to put some finishing touches to them . Joanne and Mike offered to put up the posters around the campus once they had been completed to make sure that we got people to come to the event.
I feel that Beth had more of managerial role within this project which didn’t bother me as she wasn’t controlling, she let everyone chose their jobs but at the same time made sure that they had done what they said they would do. I also thought she let everyone have their say and was open to changes. We didn’t assign anyone to become the head of the project, I think it happened as she was updating the facebook page constantly to ensure we all was in the loop with what was happening. The facebook page was a blessing as if there was any problems or people had discovered stuff that would benefit us, it informed us all so we was all in the loop.
Paul mentioned that his friend who performed would do a 15 minute set and sing swing music to fit in with the old cinema theme and that he would do it for free so we thought that this would be a good idea to keep people entertained whilst they are enjoying the refreshments.
So all i had to remember for the show was to bring the shopping and keep hold of the money! making sure we was well within in budget and to split any money we had left fairly.
